This 60-hour course is an introduction to Dr. Montessori's educational theory and practice with children under the age of three—for classroom assistants, teachers, administrators, home visitors, parent educators, parents, parents-to-be, nannies, doulas and anyone interested in human development in the critical first years of life.Through lectures, discussion, observations, and targeted assignments participants will complete the course with a solid introduction to the Montessori Philosophy, as well as practical suggestions for implementation in the home and school setting. The course is an ideal foundation for those who may be interested in taking the AMI Assistants to Infancy training (for birth to age 3). Participants who meet the course requirements are eligible for the AMI Assistants to Infancy (0 to 3) Assistants Course Certificate.

Course Requirements

60 hours of instruction 9 hours of observation 3 papers (500 words each) 90% class attendance

AMI Auxiliary Trainer Merry Hadden

Merry is a graduate of the 1977 AMI Training Course in Calcutta, India for work with the ages 2-7 and the first AMI Assistants to Infancy (0-3) Training Course in Rome, Italy, 1981. She is a certified Infant Massage instructor and a certified Birth Instructor in the R.A.T. technique, and holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business. Merry is the founder and Head of School of Montessori at Roseborough in Mount Dora, Florida, an AMI-recognized school for children from 3 months to 15 years. She is an AMI/USA Consultant and AMI 0-3 Auxiliary Trainer.
